Cobalt Solutions

Blacksmith is a graphical user interface (GUI) that assists the user in several grid related manipulations.  Blacksmith provides four main functions for the user.  First, it provides conversion routines for several grid generators (Gambit, Plot3D and VgridNS) to Cobalt format.  If your grid generator does not write Cobalt grids directly, check Blacksmith to see if a converter is available.  If not, contact us.  Second, Blacksmith has a grid soundness check.  These are the same grid checks that Cobalt performs before running on a grid.  If a grid fails any check, you will not be able to run on that grid. Third, there are several grid manipulation utilities provided by Blacksmith.  Some of the available utilities are rotation, translation, mirroring and scaling.  Lastly, Blacksmith contains a utility to create a Cobalt boundary condition file for your particular grid.
