Cobalt Solutions, LLC develops fluid dynamics software designed to keep the burden on the user as low as possible, enabling rapid turn-around of difficult problems. To this end, our flow solver, Cobalt, uses unstructured grids to enable rapid grid generation around complex geometries. Parallel processing on as many as 4000 processors with linear speedup provides rapid turnaround. The simple and intuitive graphical user interface programs Ligase and Blacksmith complement Cobalt. Finally, on-site training gets users up to speed rapidly.
Cobalt is a parallel, compressible Euler/Navier-Stokes flow solver applicable to geometries of arbitrary complexity. Its principal design features are stability, accuracy, and ease-of-use. Two- and three-dimensional unstructured grids of arbitrary cell topology are supported along with Overset grids, rigid-body motion, three equations of state, eight turbulence models, and over 20 boundary condition types. Cobalt provides detailed flow field diagnostics and direct output to major commercial post-processors.
