Research & Development
Cobalt Solutions, LLC has an R&D program dedicated to keeping its unstructured flow solver, Cobalt, at the forefront of computational fluid dynamics technology. The R&D effort is two-pronged: in-house directed R&D, funded by Cobalt Solutions, LLC, and customer directed R&D, funded by customers. Typically, in-house R&D addresses the more fundamental aspects of CFD, while the end product of customer directed R&D tends to be a specific modeling capability previously unavailable in Cobalt. For example, the blade-element rotor boundary condition, with blade tracking, was added to Cobalt under a customer directed R&D effort.
