Cobalt V3.0 was released in March, 2005. Its enhancements above and beyond V2.0 include, but are not limited to:
- Added the equilibrium air equation of state based on Tannehill’s curve fits.
- Improved capture of slowly moving and strong, normal shocks.
- Improved inviscid flux Jacobians. Convergence rates are improved by as much as 6x for steady-state cases; time-steps may be increased by ~60% and attain temporal accuracy equal to previous Jacobians.
- Continued improvement of the inviscid flux limiter.
- Added the Spalart-Allmaras turbulence model with rotation and curvature corrections, (SARC).
- Several minor bugfixes were implemented.
